Oxford is a diverse city with a changing demographic that has caused displacement and separation of certain communities. The project aims to strengthen community integration and provide spaces for underrepresented groups, particularly in the redevelopment of the East Oxford Community Centre. A group of creative professionals and community representatives have come together to identify missing spaces for these groups, with the aim of creating a campaign for funding and further facilities. The project invites consideration of rehoming two displaced functions in a new purpose-built community centre in the Temple Cowley area, with a focus on inclusive design and access. The project is an extension of an existing masterplan and seeks to create an inclusive transition from road level to the car park.
